Bold Trailer And Caravan Repair Centre proudly sponsors Lachlan Ward. We recently spent time with him and asked him a few questions.

1. How old were you when you started Racing?

I started racing Karts when I was 14. I started driving Karts when I was 13 for fun.

2. Who got you into racing?

I got myself into racing. I wanted to get a little electric Mario Kart from Toys R Us, and when I asked for it dad said let’s get a real go kart instead, and it has been all up since then.

3. What is your highest achievement (to now) in your chosen sport?

I think winning the NSW Formula Ford championship in my rookie year has to be my biggest achievement so far results wise. But my personal biggest achievement is getting myself on the grid this year in the Aussie Race Car series.

4. How far do you want to go in your sport?

Obviously I would like to go all the way, but with that comes a lot of time and especially a lot of money. I will keep pushing as I have done in the past years and see what happens!

5. How important is your trailer and towing to your motorsport?

Supppeeerrrrrr important! How can you race if the car doesn’t get there first? A good quality trailer is crucial in motorsport for numerous reasons. Two main ones are that a good trailer will absorb a lot of the bumps, potholes and issues with the road and not transfer it through the car. Secondly, a trailer with good strapping points is important, as to not pull out your wheel alignment on your race car!

6. What would be your advice to parents who want to get their kids into Racing?

Do it, but do it right! Get into it for fun and to learn lots about working on a kart and car. Do it to learn fine motor skills that can be used later in life. Get in contact with me and I can help you get into motorsport, you won’t regret it!
