CARAVAN GVM UPGRADES

Is your caravan underrated? Do you need a higher GVM/ATM so that you can load more items into your caravan?

At Bold Trailer And Caravan Repair Centre (Bold TCRC) we can weigh, inspect and make any necessary modifications to your caravan to increase its GVM/ATM. We work closely with vehicle engineers to make sure your caravan is safe and legal for towing.

What is the process to upgrade your caravan GVM?

Step 1: Book an appointment at Bold TCRC to assess your caravan – Call (02) 8544-8114.

Step 2: Your caravan will be assessed by our trade team

Step 3: Your caravan will be inspected by an RMS certified engineer who will analyse and report on what modifications need to be made to give the caravan a higher GVM rating.

Step 4: Once approved, the modifications are completed.

Step 5: The engineer re-inspects the caravan to certify that it is now capable of a higher GVM rating.

Step 6: The engineer provides the certificate required to amend the caravans registration.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you are increasing or decreasing the GVM of your caravan you will need an engineers certificate to change the details of the caravans registration at Service NSW. Bold Trailer And Caravan Repair Centre can organise the Roads and Maritime certified engineer to do this for you.

We work with Roads and Maritime certified engineers specifically for GVM upgrades. While your caravan is with us we can arrange for the engineer to come to our workshop for you.

That depends on your caravan. Some do and some don’t. The first step is for the engineer to inspect your caravan and tell us what (if anything) needs to be modified so that they will certify the caravan and provide the paperwork to get your GVM upgraded.
